About AIGovSpec

Make the choices behind AI governance easier to examine.

AIGovSpec helps learners, researchers and practitioners connect AI governance concepts to the people, incentives, institutions, infrastructures and safeguards that make them matter.

Why this project exists

A list of laws, standards and principles does not explain how governance works. AIGovSpec starts with the arrangements around an AI system: who can decide, what behavior is rewarded, who benefits, what protects people, and which choices are becoming difficult to reverse.

The aim is to make those arrangements legible enough to learn from, compare and challenge. The framework is an editorial position open to evidence and disagreement. Its examples help people ask better questions; they do not settle legal duties or certify compliance.
